Bitcoin is a decentralized digital currency without a central bank or single administrator. It can be sent from user to user on the peer-to-peer bitcoin network without the need for intermediaries. Transactions are verified by network nodes through cryptography and recorded in a public distributed ledger called a blockchain. The cryptocurrency was invented in 2008 by an unknown person or group of people using the name Satoshi Nakamoto. Its implementation was released as open-source software in 2009 and began to be used then.

Litecoin is a peer-to-peer digital currency for online payments. It is a global payment network that is fully decentralized, without any central authorities. Mathematics secures the network and gives individuals the power to control their own finances. Litecoin has faster transaction confirmation times and improved storage efficiency than the leading math-based currency. With strong industry support, trade volume and liquidity, Litecoin is a proven medium of commerce that complements Bitcoin.

Ethereum Classic is an open-source, decentralized, blockchain-based distributed cryptocurrency platform that runs smart contracts. It was originally known as Ethereum. After The DAO hack in 2016, the Ethereum blockchain split into two separate networks: the newer one inherited the name Ethereum and uses ETH or ether as its cryptocurrency, while the older one, known as Ethereum Classic, uses ETC.

Bitcoin Cash is a cryptocurrency that intends to provide an alternative to Bitcoin. Launched in 2017, Bitcoin Cash was created by a group of Bitcoin users who disagreed with the roadmap proposed by the project's principal developer group, Bitcoin Core, and believed that different technical decisions were necessary to make Bitcoin available to a global audience.

Nervos Network aims to expand on Bitcoin’s core technological primitives with Common Knowledge Base (CKB), a scalable Layer-1 blockchain that enables Layer-2 support for Bitcoin. CKB employs a Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism like Bitcoin but generalizes Bitcoin’s limited UTXO model and scripting capabilities by allowing more flexible data storage and verification. To improve Bitcoin’s arbitrary programming limitations, Nervos Network leverages a custom Cell Model for state storage and a virtual machine (CKB-VM) for transaction execution.
