ChainCatcher message, according to a report released by the data analysis platform Nansen on Wednesday, NFT royalty payments fell to a two-year low in June. Royalty payments peaked in April 2022, with creators earning 28,000 ETH per week, equivalent to nearly 76 million dollars. Meanwhile, during the peak week in June, creators earned a total of 2,000 ETH, about 3.8 million dollars.

It is reported that the rise of the optional royalty market Blur and the policies of the leading platform OpenSea have exacerbated the sharp decline in creator earnings. Currently, to enforce creator income on OpenSea, collectibles need to include on-chain execution methods in their smart contracts; otherwise, the default royalty fee is the minimum of 0.5%; while Blur enforces a minimum royalty of 0.5%.
