ChainCatcher news, according to Blockworks, the American supermarket chain Trader Joe's filed a lawsuit against the decentralized exchange Trader Joe last week, accusing it of infringing federal trademark rights.

According to the documents, the co-founder of the crypto platform is Cheng Chieh Liu, who registered the disputed domain name traderjoexyz.com. The supermarket chain alleges that they deliberately chose a name similar to that of the supermarket. The chain's lawyer stated that the DEX created a narrative around the fictional "Trader Joe's," closely related to the supermarket's brand. They further questioned the cryptocurrency company's logo, which features an image of "Trader Joe" wearing a red hat, a color that is prominent in the grocery chain's branding.

Trader Joe's supermarket chain is requesting the court to issue an order forcing the cryptocurrency company to cease using variations of its name in its business operations. It is also seeking ownership of the relevant domain names and additional damages determined through legal proceedings.
