ChainCatcher news, according to FinanceFeeds, the digital asset custody institution BDACS, licensed by the South Korean financial regulatory authority, announced the addition of XRP institutional custody services on August 5, 2025. This service is based on a custody technology collaboration with Ripple, supporting the secure storage of XRP and the stablecoin RLUSD, and has completed system integration with major South Korean exchanges such as Upbit and Bithumb.

CoinGecko data shows that XRP accounts for 19% of the daily trading volume on South Korea's largest exchange, Upbit, and the holding volume on the Bithumb platform reaches 1.38 million coins (market share 16%), making it the second-largest held cryptocurrency in South Korea.

BDACS stated that this move aims to meet the demand of institutional investors for compliant infrastructure, in line with the policy direction of the South Korean Financial Services Commission to promote institutional market entry.
