ChainCatcher news, according to the U.S. Department of Justice, British citizen Thalha Jubair has been charged for participating in at least 120 cyber intrusions and ransomware attacks involving 47 U.S. entities, with a total ransom paid by victims exceeding $115 million.

The indictment alleges that 19-year-old Jubair (also known by aliases "EarthtoStar," "Brad," "Austin," etc.) collaborated with a cybercrime group known as "Scattered Spider" to gain unauthorized network access through social engineering techniques, steal and encrypt information, and then extort ransom from victims.
