ChainCatcher message, the cross-chain bridge Shibarium connecting the Layer2 network Shibarium with Ethereum was previously attacked by a flash loan, resulting in approximately $2.4 million worth of ETH and SHIB being stolen. Currently, Shibarium has released a security incident update, which states:
Specific bridging operations have been restricted to prevent new unauthorized transactions;
Upgraded and restricted paths that could be abused (deposit/withdrawal/claim/reward), and added targeted defensive controls to prevent abuse of delegated staking;
Restored and protected BONE at risk held by staking managers, with short-term BONE staking by attackers being intervened and effectively limited by protocol mechanisms;
Rotated validator signers, migrating contract control to multi-party hardware custody; continuing extensive migration from legacy keys;
Real-time monitoring of attacker traffic; automatically alerting partners and exchanges and reporting;
Engaged independent security researchers, incident response companies, and relevant departments.
