Anhui Court of China: Tether trading violates public order and good morals, and the law does not provide protection

ChainCatcher news, recently, according to the official WeChat account of the Intermediate People's Court of Tongling, Anhui, the Court of Zongyang County, Anhui, has concluded a dispute over unjust enrichment arising from virtual currency transactions. In this case, Ding purchased 1,300 Tether coins at a unit price of 7.44 yuan through a platform, totaling 9,672 yuan. After the seller, Wu, confirmed the order, the sale was completed and payment was received. However, Ding later claimed that Wu's earnings constituted unjust enrichment and requested a refund.

The court held that the transaction of Tether coins violated public order and good morals, rendering the act invalid. The losses should be borne by the parties involved in the transaction, and the law does not provide protection, thus dismissing the plaintiff's claims.
