ChainCatcher news, according to Crypto.com, the company has submitted an application for a national trust bank charter to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Kris Marszalek, co-founder and CEO of Crypto.com, stated, "Building Crypto.com’s product and service portfolio through regulated and secure products has always been our focus." It is reported that Crypto.com seeks to obtain a national trust bank charter to advance its industry-leading custody technology and related customer services, including asset custody and staking services across multiple blockchains and digital asset protocols (including Cronos). The national trust bank charter will further solidify Crypto.com’s position as the preferred platform for custody services, particularly providing federally regulated services for digital asset treasuries, exchange-traded funds, and other corporate and institutional investors.
