According to The Block, Injective launched its native EVM mainnet on its Cosmos-based Layer 1 blockchain on Tuesday, bringing full compatibility with Ethereum. This is a key step in Injective's "MultiVM" roadmap, which aims to create a unified multi-virtual machine environment on Layer 1 blockchain for seamless development and execution across multiple smart contract platforms.

The ultimate goal is to enable developers to deploy applications on their preferred virtual machines—including WebAssembly, EVM, and Solana virtual machines—without changing the code, while sharing liquidity, assets, state, and modules across the entire ecosystem. Injective began testing its inEVM Layer 2 as early as 2023 and announced earlier this year that it would introduce native EVM support on its Cosmos-based Layer 1. According to Tuesday's announcement, Solana virtual machine support "has been included in the roadmap."
