Delphi Digital: GameFi funding in 2025 decreased by over 55% year-on-year

Delphi Digital published on platform X, stating that the GameFi industry is expected to perform poorly in 2025, with financing down more than 55% year-on-year. The most anticipated product launches have underperformed, and market enthusiasm is low.
Web2.5 games are quietly rising, viewing blockchain as a pure infrastructure, typically not issuing tokens and competing based on actual revenue. Studios like Fumb Games, Mythical Games, and Wemade/Wemix continue to generate substantial revenue while leveraging blockchain technology to improve profit margins and enhance engagement.
Web3 native games generated six to seven figures in revenue this year, but the player base is small and filled with bots, leading to significant user attrition once incentive mechanisms disappear. Web2.5 studios can currently take advantage of blockchain without forcing users to speculate. The proliferation of stablecoins will accelerate this trend, making microtransactions, global payment channels, and participation-based reward mechanisms more convenient.
