A man in Hong Kong reportedly fell to his death after losing about 10 million yuan due to failed cryptocurrency investments

According to the Hong Kong Wen Wei Po, a 32-year-old man from Hong Kong allegedly lost about 10 million HKD due to failed cryptocurrency investments and fell to his death in front of his father after returning from the UK two days ago.
Reports indicate that the man held a master's degree and was pursuing a second master's degree. He developed mental health issues after losing his job due to the pandemic in 2022 and required regular medication. The man went to the UK for further studies in September last year and recently contacted his father with unstable emotions, returning to Hong Kong for medical treatment at the family's urging.
The afternoon before last, after arriving home, the man revealed to his father that he had lost about 10 million HKD in his cryptocurrency investments. He then lost control of his emotions, cut his wrists, and ran out onto the terrace, falling to his death. After investigation, the police deemed the case un suspicious and classified it as a fall from height incident.
