According to The Block, the Gwangju District Prosecutor's Office in South Korea is investigating how personnel mistakenly accessed a phishing site and entered a recovery seed phrase, resulting in the theft of Bitcoin (approximately 320.8 BTC, worth between $21 million and $29 million at the time) that was seized from a gambling platform.
On February 18, the hacker returned all 320.8 BTC (worth approximately $21.4 million) to the wallet held by the prosecution. Subsequently, these funds were transferred to a local exchange for secure custody. The prosecution made it difficult for the hacker to cash out by freezing transactions from the hacker's wallet, which may have been the main reason for the return. The identity of the hacker remains unknown.
