According to CoinDesk, Tether and the city of Lugano, Switzerland, have committed to invest up to 5 million Swiss francs (approximately 6.3 million USD) to expand its Bitcoin initiative, aiming to make Lugano a global hub for digital infrastructure.

The plan builds on the existing foundation of over 400 merchants accepting Bitcoin and USDT payments.
