Trump: Core goals are close to being achieved, the rise in oil prices is a short-term phenomenon

In a nationwide televised speech on Thursday, Trump detailed the military achievements of the "Epic Anger Operation." He stated, "The U.S. military has achieved a swift and decisive victory. The core strategic objectives are close to being met. In the entire history of human warfare, no enemy has ever suffered such clear and devastating large-scale losses in just a few weeks."

He reiterated, "Iran's ability to launch missiles and drones has been significantly weakened. We will never allow Iran to have nuclear weapons." Regarding energy, Trump continued to assert, "We do not need oil from the Middle East. Thanks in part to Venezuelan oil and gas, the U.S. is now completely no longer reliant on the Middle East. The recent rise in gasoline prices domestically is a 'short-term' phenomenon. Oil production will soon increase significantly. The U.S. has never been so well-prepared economically."

Regarding the market's biggest concern, the Strait of Hormuz, Trump still did not provide a timeline for when it would reopen: "We did not need the Strait of Hormuz in the past, and we do not need it now. Once the conflict is over, the strait will naturally reopen."
